I would be surprised if any president was named for an elementary school. I would not be surprised if more elementary schools were named after Lincoln than any other president. The reason is that Lincoln was such a popular name for black schools before integration and is still a good name for any school, I think.

Pasteurization is one of the most important safety measures in milk processing. It is a method of heat treatment invented By Louis Pasteur. It destroys undesirable bacteria without reducing the quality of the milk. Pasteurization ensures safety, quality and a longer shelf life for many beverages. The first pasteurization test was completed by Louis Pasteur and Claude Bernard on April 20, 1862. Pasteurization is not Sterilization. It reduces pathogens to safe levels, but there will… Read More

Louis Pasteur was most likely never a Freemason. He is not listed in William R. Denslow's definitive book, 10,000 Famous Freemasons, or by any other reputable source. Understand that, in most cases, it is virtually impossible to prove a negative, therefore one cannot say with absolute certainty that Pasteur was NOT a Freemason, but there is no evidence to indicate that he was. Masonry, like most groups, is very proud of its famous members and… Read More
People do not "invent" school. They can "establish" a school. But Albert Einstein did neither. He did not invent schools--- they were in place in the US from colonial days. He also did not establish any schools. Many schools bear his name, but these were named by other people to honor Einstein.

Pasteur's parents were peasants, his father was a tanner by trade. He spent the early days of his life in the small town of Arbois where he attended school and where it seems that Pasteur did not do very well, preferring instead to go fishing. His headmaster, however, spotted potential… Read More

By working with milk Pasteur showed us the way to keep food safe.
Francesco Redi and Louis Pasteur, as well as Lazzaro Spallanzani and John Tyndall, all did scientific experiments (as opposed to philosophical writings) challenging the idea that life could quickly arise in the absence of any life from which other life could grow. This idea, formally dating back to the ancient Greeks, is called "spontaneous generation." The experiments of these four showed that spontaneous generation did not occur in situations that others thought it did. Like… Read More
