Are there any scriptures in the Bible dealing with helping one with ones enemies?

Jesus taught that love is the proper response - this was in contrast to 'an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth' idea which was prevalent in His time. Further to this the verse from Romans indicates that if there is any vengeance to occur God is to do it and not man - we can err in our judgment whereas God cannot. In numerous places the New Testament points out that to have enemies will be the normal lot of the true Christian and so it needs to be remembered this is often simply a consequence of holding the truth. To resort to measures which themselves are not true is to depart from the truth - but it is always important to express and live the truth in as loving a manner as possible and so not to provoke enemies. This puts the Christian person in the wrong.

44But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; 19Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.
