I'm white and an Arabic. :) Arabs got black people and white people...in the old times a HUGE number of black people changed their religion and migrated since Islam says Black and White people are equal and Arab people never made black as slaves.

Yeah there are so-called 'black' Arabs. Well they are just Arabs who are darker-skinned, especially in Oman,Yemen, and Saudi Arabia. Also many Afro-Arabs who were the mixture between Africans and Arabs over the years.

The Arabs were originally a tribal people who lived in what is now Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Oman, and the United Arab Emirates. The tribes had similar complexion in the same way that Celts, Anglo-Saxons, and French have similar complexions. They certainly would not have seen themselves to be the same people.

The Rise of Islam brought the different tribes together under one banner and they chose to identify as 'Arabi because of the language they had in common ('Arabia). As the Caliphate's borders expanded, "pure-blooded" Arabs intermarried with locals in almost all conquered regions for both political and religious reasons leading to a diffuse introduction of the genotypical characteristics.

Most Arabs still use the Arabic Language as a way of deciding who is an Arab more than they use skin color (which may vary from Spanish/Italian coloration to light African coloration). If a certain range of skin colors defines a race, then Arabs are not a race. If self-sight and foreign perspectives (society) determine what counts as a race, then Arabs are most certainly a race. This nebulous character is what made Arab Nationalism such a problem for minorities in the Arab World.
