They already exist, but they are off the market because it would require a air strip, not enough land. So if you expect some like the cab in the Fifth Element we would have to wait till anti-gravity is created.

While the concept of flying cars is being explored, there are significant challenges such as regulatory, safety, and infrastructure concerns that need to be addressed before they become a widespread reality. It may be some time before flying cars are common in everyday use.

The earliest "flying car" was built in the 1930's, but was cumbersome and impractical. Modern "flying cars" are hideously expensive, and part of that cost is consumed by lawyers who file lawsuits to prevent any sort of technological progress.
Will there ever be many, inexpensive flying cars? I suspect not; I would bet that we will cut way BACK on personal travel instead of expanding it. The telecommunications revolution that is now underway will make it far less important to physically go places except for vacations. Even today, a lot of business travel is done via computer and telepresence.

The concept and execution of flying cars is very feasible today and in fact they have already been built. But the reality is that, for the near future, it is not going to happen. There are some really big problems with a flying car. Imagine the engine stalling in mid-flight. You will not just be embarrassed you will die. Also flying cars are very noisy to operate and expensive to buy. IMO, flying cars will never, ever, become common place. Also, who is going to control the added air traffic?

There has been some progress in this field. No we are no where near close the "Jetson" are of flying cars. But it is something that is in the minds of scientists. There is a plane that has been created that is said to be able to go on the high way. These are mere rumors though. There has not been a specific date to when we will see this.
