because it is not their natural habitat, animals are placed where they are because they suit the environment, temperature and other animals to make a 'circle of life'. however some do 'live' in Australia in zoos.

There are no elephants in the wild in Australia, but you can see them in some zoos, such as the Western Plains Zoo near Dubbo, NSW. Elephants are native to Africa and Asia.
