between 1986 and 1996 (incl), a period of 11 years, there were "just" 15 earthquakes listed by USGS of magnitude 7.0 or greater. This is not markedly different (albeit a slight decrease) from previous (similar periods) of 20th century, where an average of about 18 might be expected.

But between 1997 and 2007 (incl), a period of only 11 years, there were 99 earthquakes with magnitude 7.0 or greate...r : This is more than a six-fold increase on the previous similar period - and is a stark increase on any earlier decades in 20th century too.

The trends in nature here, particularly from 1997 support the wider realisation of prophesy about the "End Times", namely that an increase in earthquake activity is a pre-requisite for the "second coming of Jesus Christ" foretold in The Bible. It does not indicate how close we are to this event, but suggests it is not too far away.truth or not we,ll see..

No it is not. A current misconception that seismic activity is increasing stems from the recent trend in news corporations reporting on seismic activity, which in no way means that it is increasing. I suggest you go to www.USGS.com to get real time statistics, expert quotes and accurate data on earthquake activity and you will see that seismic activity has remained fairly constant.

No. With the new technology nowadays, people are more aware of earthquakes and their impact on recent events. Often times people say there are more earthquakes occurring, but there aren't. We didn't have this technology back then, so we couldn't detect or record as many earthquakes as we can now.

There is no statistical evidence that the frequency of earthquakes has increased. The frequency of large earth quakes remains about the same. Smaller quakes appear to be on the increase because more are being detected than than ever before because of modern equipment and the fact that more detectors are being deployed in more places around the world. We're doing a much better job detecting and reporting quakes now than ever before.

There does not seem to be any real increase in natural disasters. However, our awareness of them when they do occur has increased. In any case, the frequency of any type of disaster will fluctuate over time and an apparent change in a period of only ten years is not enough to draw any conclusions.

Yes, they have. The US Geological Survey keeps records of the incidence of seismic activity.

What kind of storm will warn us from thhe world ending?

According to the bible the world will not end with a storm. When Jesus returns He will destroy the earth with fire. But the bible tells us that there will be signs that will preceed His return. Natural disasters such as hurricans, earthquakes, valcanos, ect. will be increased in frequency and magnitute. The past decade has seen a rise in earthquakes by about 500%. Other disasters are similarly on the rise.

The frequency of earthquakes depends on the location. in Japan, earthquakes occur 3 times a month, and in the Sahara in Africa they occur once in five years..

Why is there a frequency of earthquakes and volcanoes?

The reason why is because the tectonic plates never stop moving. When one plate collides with another it causes volcanoes and earthquakes to occur.

How are earthquakes and sound waves similar?

Both involve mechanical waves. The P waves generated in earthquakes can actually be considered to be extremely low frequency sound waves.
