Well, there ARE quite some dangerous sharks in Tunisia, as long as you consider the Great White a dangerous species. Actually some scientists believe that the small strait between Sicily and Tunisia has the highest Great White population in the world because of the tuna that they feed on. And of course there have been attacks on swimmers, fishermen and divers. But still sharks do not prey on humans and attacks are extremely rare so it is save to go into the water.
The most common that I know of are the following: Barbeled Houndshark, Atlantic weasel shark (Paragaleus pectoralis), Sharpnose shark (Rhizopriondon terraenovae), Ghost catshark, and Bull Sharks. However I am sure there are MANY other species in these waters. The longfin mako shark (quite a bit off the coast on the western side) was just recorded for the 1st time in 2006. It is more than likely that most of your Atlantic palegic sharks could be found in the deeper western waters at any given time. Mackerel sharks, Grey Nurse sharks, and Great Whites are seasonal travelers that pass through for fairly short times. Indirect evidence of Sixgills and Megamouths have been found in these waters, but no confimed sightings yet.

Sharks tend to grow larger, and therefore more successful in hotter places. This doesn't exclude your chances of finding a shark around the colder places; you can find them anywhere.
