Are yellowed colored stars cooler than red colored?
No. Yellow stars are hotter than red stars.
See related question.
Stars which are RED are cooler stars than the blue one, so Yes it is possible to distinguish coller stars by the naked eye. Star Betelgeuseis called Ardra in Indian-Astronomy. Ardra in sankrith means wet. Betelgeuse is one of the red star and cooler than other bluestars. I only wonder, how ancientpeople could have imagined this star could be cooler than others and name it as Ardra !
the temperature of red star is minimum and maximum for blue stars . our sun is yellow colored therefore red stars are coolest than our sun . Take the example of Wolf 359 (a type of red dwarf star ) located in the constellation Leo . the temperature of photosphere of this star is about 2800 kelvin and the temperature of sun's photosphere is 5778 kelvin ( effected )
According to Wien's law, red stars are cooler than blue stars. This concept can be easier to understand using a light bulb. For example, when you turn off a light, the temperature of the bulb will decrease and you will notice the bulb turning red. The cooler light becomes, you will notice the obvious change in brightness and the color shifts towards red and the intensity is lowered.
How does the HR diagram explain why some smaller cooler stars are brighter than larger hotter stars?
The hottest stars are white or blue, cooler stars are yellowish. Cooler still are the orange stars. The coolest stars appear red. That's how the spectrum of a star is related to its surface temperature. The reason is that the hotter the star, the shorter the wavelength at which the light is most intense in its spectrum. Blue light is of shorter wavelength than red.
The reason is because it IS a star. Our sun is not any different than other stars in our galaxy. It is larger than many of the dwarf stars, and hotter than some, but cooler than others and smaller than quite a few. Some stars are a hundred times more massive than our sun, and some are far, far bigger.
Blue Star- blue stars the super giants of the sky. they are much larger than yellow stars (about 3 times bigger) and hotter. Yellow Stars- yellow stars are a lot smaller and cooler an example is our sun. Therefore, because blue stars are hotter than yellow- they burn their nuclear fuel a lot faster and live for a shorter time.
