Being that God had promised Abraham that he would be the father of many nations, God had to keep his covenant by blessing Abraham's seed (Ishmael) though he was not the son promised to Sarah & Abraham. So God promised he would bless Ishmael making him a great nation. (Gen 17: 25 & Gen 25: 12-18). His descendants are considered to be the Arabic People.
