it could be the transmission, this happened to me on my 93 Ford escort, try putting some anti-slip transmion(lucas'). it should help if not talk to your mechanic. the font bottom of engine is also where the transmission is on escorts.
more than likely it is your exhaust pipe mounts that need replacing.
