Pain is caused by many things, and stomach pain can indicate indigestion, over-eating, excess acidity, food poisoning (by salmonella bacteria), an ulcer, or even appendicitis. To help narrow this field of possibilities, it would be good to know what you have been eating lately, and how long you have had this pain, and whether you have had this kind of pain before as a chronic condition. The most common cause of stomach pain is excess acidity, and you could certainly try taking an antacid and seeing if it makes a difference. If the condition persists or gets worse, you may need medical help.
Abdominal pain can unfortunately be the cause of several problems. It is best to see your doctor, especially if symptoms persist. A few common causes of pain to the right upper abdomen include: * Gastroenteritis * Gallstones * Pancreatitis * Perforated Gastric Ulcer * Hepatitis These are just a few of the many possible causes of pain to that area of the abdomen. Again visiting your physician will be the only way to differentiate between the many causes.
