When North Korea invaded South Korea the Security Council of the United Nations voted to help South Korea. The Soviet Union, also on the Council, was boycotting the UN at the time so could not veto the decision. The US was the largest participant but most countries comprising the British Commonwealth were also involved as were others.
Britain sent approximately 62,000 men to Korea and lost approximately 1,100 men killed, and 2,600 wounded.
Britain contributed over 63,000 men to the Korean War.

The korean 'war', if officially considered a war, as opposed to a 'police action', would predate the vietnam war, which has also been referred to as a 'conflict'. Semantics aside, u.s. 'involvement' in korea predated u.s. 'involvement' in vietnam.
