My '96 G20 has a fuel door open button located on the driver's door armrest
There is a notch to pry the cover open. It should be visible after removing the metal key. Open it then the battery can be replaced.
It is located on top of the plastic moulding on the right side of the radiator, it has a 10mm bolt holding it , you can see it as soon as you open the hood on the right side of the front spark plugs cover, next to where it says "TWIN CAM 24 VALVE".
The lever beside the drivers seat lifts for opening the boot and you push down on that lever to open the fuel cover.
open the drivers side door and look on the side of the dashboard you will see a cover for your fuses just pop it open the fuses are listed on the inside of the cover
Open the drivers door , and IN the drivers end of the dash you will see a removable plastic fuse panel cover ( the fuses are behind the cover ) on your 1996 Ford Ranger
You cant I have the same year van and there is no way that I have seen to open it from the inside. Kinda weird
Open up the truck.. Unplug power line but, don't unplug the antenna line. It's will be used for your remote. - brokenics@yahoo.com

Open the drivers door and in the drivers end of the dash you will see a plastic removable fuse panel cover , the fuses are behind the cover
Open the hood and it's on the right side as you face the engine open the plastic box to the right carefully using the proper tools. After removing the cover look on the inside of the cover and it will show you where it is.
Open the keys with the door.
