Both Catholics and Mormons are encouraged to marry within their faith; so while they can date, if their families are devout they may face unhappy family members - especially if things get serious. Catholics and Mormons who choose to marry may experience trouble if they wished to have a church wedding, as many clergy won't marry a mixed-faith couple. However, I have known many Catholic/Mormon couples who have had long happy marriages.

Of course if you are a minor and living in your parent's home, they might set some rules about who you date. If your parents say you can only date other Catholics, best wait until you move out to date someone outside of your faith.

Of course they can date. Some families may not be happy about it if a serious relationship happens, but it is for them to work out how they would approach religious affiliation.

Can Mormons not date non-Mormons even if the girl is willing to convert when she marries and goes to stake dances and has a lot of Mormon friends?

Mormons can date whomever they want, but are encouraged to date other members of the church. Dating can lead to marriage, and Mormons believe that if you marry in the temple, you can be sealed to your spouse for eternity. However, both individuals must be members of the church in order to be sealed in the temple. If you are willing to convert, why wait until marriage? If you have a testimony, join the church now, and then you don't have to worry about not being able to date Mormons because you will be one. :)

How are Roman Catholic and Mormon faith different?

The Mormon church started with Joseph Smith Jr. in the 1800s. It is considered a restoration of the church started by Jesus. The Catholic church started with Jesus in the year 33AD. Mormons believe that Jesus reveals his will via their President. Catholics believe that the pope is "infallible", eg. he cannot make a mistake, he is the successor of St. Peter, whom Jesus chose to lead the church after his death. Both churches have missionaries who have spread their respective faiths around the world. Mormons have more of an emphasis on missionary work than Catholics. Mormons believe in exaltation. Catholics believe you get "grace" from living a good life.
