Take your VIN and proof of ownership to the dealership and they can get you a new key.
The dealership can generally program a new transponder key based on the VIN. Most good locksmiths can reproduce the key, but would need the original to do so.
Yes, this can be done by a Ford dealer.
Normally it would only cause a problem if the transponder key had severe damage or trying to start the car without the transponder. If the key looks ok and there's no damage to the sstem then it's probably not the transponder system causing the problem. The dealership could figure this out.

If you have proof of ownership (title, registration, etc) and the VIN number (which should be on said documents) you can go to the dealership and they can look up your key code and cut you new keys. I suggest calling the parts department of your local Jeep dealer and talking to someone there.
The ignition key has a transponder in it. Without the dealer programming the transponder, the key will not start the car. You can get a key made at your local Jaguar dealership for about $85 including the necessary programming. Some automotive locksmiths provide this service. I am an automotive locksmith and I cut and program the keys that you speak of.
i bought a remote key from the audi dealership and i wanted to know if there's a way to program my key without going to the dealership?
The SunPass program makes commutes that pass through tolls much easier. The SunPass program gives a person a transponder that is placed on the dashboard against the window of the car. As a person approaches a toll the transponder is detected, the correct amount is automatically deducted from the SunPass prepaid account and the person in the vehicle can drive right on through without stopping and fumbling around with correct change.
You need to go to the dealership to get the code. I was told it needed to be the original dealership in which it was first bought but don't quote me on that.
You don't
No, you can have a transponder key without the remote.
