At 15 years old, I'd say the original film is perfect. Especially if the 15-year-old likes movies and Horror, then it's practically essential.
The Rob Zombie remake is a different story, as it is more mature and graphic in every aspect. I'd personally say yes for a 15-year-old, but it's a more complex decision in comparison to the classic film. Parents and guardians should consider that.
Overall, I'd say that the first Halloween movie is suitable and it's a masterpiece in horror, but the remake is a more graphic film that should be taken with more thought.
