I'm guessing, you mean oatmeal - rather than baby food oatmeal. The prepared instant oatmeal has high levels of sugar, a baby doesn't need.

If you are using plain oatmeal and he has been eating normal baby food, just make the oatmeal "thinner" with water, formula or breast milk, less sticky than an adult eats.

This is of course if the pediatrician or nutrition counselor has advised your baby is ready to eat solids.
