Yes a minor can be charged with a crime and they can get to jail. If the crime is bad enough they can be charged as a adult and serve time in prison but normally it would be a prison for minors. but there is cases of minors serving time with adults in prisons. but minors always get the least punishment most of the time. there is times when repeat offenders are given max time in jail/prison. also showing the minor is sorry and understands what he did wrong can help lower the sentence. basically if a minor goes into court acting smug and ignorant to the judge they will be given max probably.
