yes a catholic can receive communion, even if they live common-law, it is all about how they themselves feel about receiving communion.

Roman Catholic AnswerWithout knowing more than what you have given in the question: No, a Catholic not living in a state of grace can not receive Holy Communion without going to Confession and receiving Absolution from a priest. If a Catholic is in an irregular marriage, then they should seek out a priest and have the situation rectified as soon as possible. In the meantime they should live as brother and sister.

A personal aside: The Catholic Church is not about a set of rules. The Catholic Church exists only to manifest the love of God and to help people attain heaven. The "rules" are not so much "rules" as they are guidance, a priest recently said, "would you say that when your car's GPS says "turn right" it is issuing a rule? No, of course not, the GPS is just trying to direct you in the right way. If you ignore it, you are either going to have to turn around or go a long way around to get back on the correct route. It's not perfect, but it is a good analogy for what people call the "rules" of the Church. It's not trying to be hard on you, it's just pointing out the way that you must live your life if you don't want to damage yourself, your spouse, and end up not in heaven.

Can a catholic married to non-catholic in civil ceremony receive communion?

This is a difficult question to dissect. I think what you mean is that a Catholic gets married to a Non-Catholic in a Civil Ceremony and then sometime later wants to receive Communion. Any Catholic can receive Communion and should, as long as they are not aware of any mortal sin. In this situation, Catholics must be married in the Catholic Church or receive a dispensation to be married elsewhere. If this is not done, it is a grave offense (mortal sin) and a confession is required before going to Communion again.

Can an Anglican take communion in a Maronite church?

.Catholic AnswerOf course not, an Anglican is a protestant, a Catholic Church is Catholic. An Anglican may receive Holy Communion in a Catholic Church after completing RCIA classes and being brought into the Church at the Easter Vigil, but if they wish to remain an Anglican, they are, by that very fact, proclaiming that they are not in communion with the Catholic Church, so to receive Holy Communion in a Catholic Church would be a lie and dangerous to their spiritual well-being. Aside from all that, Catholics to not "take" Holy Communion, they "receive" Holy Communion.

Do you have to be baptized to take communion?

Catholics do not 'take' communion, they 'receive' communion. Yes, you must be a baptized Catholic to receive communion in a Catholic Church. Also, you must have undergone instruction and received your First Holy Communion.

Why does the Catholic church not allow other Christians to partake in communion?

Because one of the reasons for receiving Holy Communion in the Catholic Church is to publicly show your communion with the Catholic Church. Non-Catholics are not in communion with the Catholic Church and therefore cannot receive Holy Communion.

Can a Catholic receive communion if married to a non Catholic in a civil service?

Can you receive communion if you were not married by the church and divorced?

You may receive communion as a divorced Catholic, but not upon remarriage, unless you first have an annulment. This is true regardless of where your marriage was performed because all marriages are presumed valid. The church will consider you married until you receive an annulment, but you have not sinned simply by being divorced.

Can c of e take communion at child's first communion?

Nobody can take Holy Communion in a Catholic Church, you may only receive Holy Communion from the priest, and then only if you have been baptized in the Catholic Church and previously made your first Confession and First Holy Communion. Bottom line? An Anglican may not take communion in a Catholic Church.

Can Catholic women take Communion after she marries?

As long as she is married under canonical laws--the laws of the Catholic Church--absolutely. If she is married outside the Catholic Church, she may worship and receive a blessing at each Mass, but not receive Holy Communion unless her marriage has been validated by the Church. Without knowing further information, there are ways for her to have her marriage validated...she should speak to her Priest for further guidance.
