German Shepherd's in general are quite the hardy breed and can take quite a vary of conditions. If you wish to get a Shepherd for cold weather I suggest a long hair as they can take it better and won't shed as much.

They do thrive best indoors however.

∙ 13y agoNo, at night cold weather becomes unbearable and a labs thin coat wouldn't be able to withstand it. A PEDIGREE longhaired German Shepherd would struggle in the cold, let alone a mix.
