Either you've got a dead cell in the battery or the cable ends need to be cleaned and tightened.
Your alternator could be bad.
A ( 1981 ) Ford Escort takes a BCI group size ( 58 ) battery
My 94 escort was doing the same thing. I replaced the throttle valve assembly and that seems to have done the trick. Hopefully that helps you out.
probably have a bad alternator or voltage regulator or bad battery cables
What does it mean when the airbag light and battery light on 1999 Ford Escort flashes?
Battery is located in the trunk.
happened on mine when the battery shorted out against the bonnet
OK, it has a battery. What are you wanting to know?
I have a 1996 ford escort that will not start and it has a new starter on it and a new battery in it but it still will not start
the battery is in the trunk on the left side
Your charging system has failed, probably the alternator.
No it should not stall if your alternator is good. It's not good to disconnect a battery with engine running. It can cause a spike and ruin the computer. It was ok to do that years ago before 1980.
You need to repair the cause of the code that turned the light on. You can then reset the light with a scan tool or a battery disconnect.
A vacuum leak or a faulty IAC (Idle Air Control) valve.
If you are talking about a 1984-1987 Ford Escort diesel in the USA, it is located behind the left side trim panel in the trunk/hatch area.
The battery light comes on because: \ 1. The serpentine accessory belt has broken. 2. The alternator has worn out.
either alternator or wrong size battery
Remove battery, its mounted to the firewall I believe....
What kind of seat belt system do you have? Check your seat belt system, as my escort does this occassionally and it has to do with the seat belts not working properly.
where is the cranking senor on a1989 ford gt escort

Good engine ground
