The answer varies state to state. In the state of Texas, state laws ban felons from working as a psychologist (Texas Occupations Code, Section 501.255). Felons are also banned from working as a Marriage and Family Therapist (Texas Occupations Code, Section 502.252). In California, however, a felony conviction does not necessarily prevent you from becoming a liscensed psychologist. A liscensing board may deny a license on the grounds that the applicant has been convicted of a crime. (California Business and Professions Code Section 480.a.1) However, if a convicted felon has obtained a certificate of rehabilitation (California Penal Code Section 4852.01-4852.21), then the applicant cannot be denied solely on the basis of having been convicted of a felony. (California Business and Professions Code Section 480.b)

The Oregon Health Licensing Agency Or (OHLA) has the authority to advice against any person with whom has had a criminal past. In the state of Oregon as well as many other states, a person with a felony conviction (non misdemeanor) will not be permitted to hold any Medical license or Licencing that require state testing. Contact the OHLA for full overveiw.

Convicted felons are not going to be able to become a psychologist. You should try looking at jobs that are not so personal in matter.

Yes. Felons can obtain waivers for almost any state-licensed occupation after years have passed.

Possible but unlikely. It really depends on the charge you received. If it can be class at all violent, likely as not the answer will be no.
