It's possible, but very unlikely to get pregnant if a woman has had a bilateral tubal ligation and her male partner has received a vasectomy.

Vasectomy Tubal ligation

User Avatar

As a rule, no. HOWEVER, I do happen to know of a couple who: the man had had a vasectomy, the woman had had a tubal ligation, yet they managed to get pregnant, because the sperm cell made the leap. However, those were extraordinary circumstances. Consult your doctor for all the facts.

Vasectomy is safer and less expensive than tubal ligation (sterilization of a female by cutting the Fallopian tubes to prevent conception).

User Avatar

NO! Yes you could... only if the man whom had the vasectomy didnt have a sperm count done when he was suppose to after the surgery till the count hits 0. And if the female that had the tubal ligation, her tubes re-attach, then she can get pregnant. But the chances are very slim to none.

For women: Tubal ligation. For men, vasectomy.

Either works by preventing sperm and egg from reaching each other. Vasectomy by preventing sperm from entering the urethra and tubal ligation from preventing sperm from reaching the ovary.

Yes, a female can get pregnant after a tubal ligation but, it's not a very high chance of it but..... Anything is possible

Tubal ligation blocks the pathway the egg would take. Vasectomy blocks the path sperm would take. Without the pathway, human reproduction cannot occur for that person.
