If your son is a learner driver with you in the car does he still need insurance?

So long as your son has your permission to drive your car, he is covered under your insurance policy. (As long as he has a valid driver's permit or license)

Can you drive a mans car without permission from his spouse?

I would not drive a man's car if his wife said I couldn't no matter what. Legally, the person who is the policyholder on the insurance and the owner of the vehicle has to give you permission to drive. If you drive it on a regular basis, you must be listed as a driver on the insurance policy. If you drive the car without permission, and have an accident, you will not have coverage under the insurance policy.

Will AARP cover a minor accident if someone else was driving your car?

ANY driver with permission to drive that car by the owner is covered under that car's insurance policy. Insurance goes with the car...not the driver.

Can you legally drive a friend's car if you are under your parent's insurance and said car is insured by your friends family?

You would be covered by the insurance on your friend's car if you are driving it with their permission. To be safe, get the parents' permission, not just your friend's. It may be that your friend can't give a legally binding permission.

Will insurance rates increase if 18 yr old daughter on parents' policy lets uninsured boyfriend drive her parents car and he has an accident?

yes, if your daughter had your permission to drive then gave her permission for boyfriend to drive, then he is an insured driver under the policy.....coverage/policy stays with the vehicle, meaning your policy will pay (assuming he was at fault)...and thus be affected by this accident........

Is your car covered if the driver does not have insurance?

If you have insurance on a car anyone who you give permission to drive the vehicle is covered under your insurance. This is normally covered when insurance companies ask if there will be any other drivers for the vehicle.

If a person has permission from you to drive your car and then has an accident can the damage be claimed under their insurance instead of yours?

No, the vehicle's owner's insurance is liable. The insurance is on the specific vehicle, not on the driver. It does not seem fair, but that is the way it is. Nathan C
