You will have to do your own research on this,

FELONS CONVICTED IN STATE COURT OF STATE CRIMES: If you are a resident of a state which completely or partially restores your "rights" (you will have to do research to learn if this applies to your state), you will still remain subject to any restrictions that your state laws place on you (e.g.- voting rights - elective office - firearms/ammunition possession - etc). CAUTION: FEDERALLY CONVICTED FELONS: It remains a FEDERAL felony for a federally convicted felon to EVER own or possess a firearm. The U.S. Criminal Code, makes the penalty for illegal possession of a firearm a mandatory minimum of fifteen (15) years in prison in some cases (Title 18 U.S.C. sec 924(e)(1). At this time federally convicted felons have no solution to their firearm disqualification.

A spouse of a convicted felon can certainly own a gun in any state. I would highly recommend that the gun is not kept anywhere where the convicted felon can have access to it (do not keep it in the same home, it would be best to store it at a gun club or similar). If the gun is kept where the felon can have access, it will be easy to claim that you had posession of the gun and posession of any gun by a convicted felon is illegal under federal law.

Possession or Transportation of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon is a Class 6 Felony in Virginia. Anyone previously convicted of a "violent felony" will be sentenced to a minimum mandatory of 5 years imprisonment. Anyone previously convicted of a felony within the past 10 years will be sentenced to a minimum mandatory of 2 years imprisonment. See Virginia Penal laws - § 18.2-308.2 In addition, this violates a separate FEDERAL law with a penalty of 5 years in a Federal prison.

No. Aside from the federal law which states that a felon may not have access to, be in possession of, or purchase firearms, anyone who handles firearms in that shop must be covered under the shop's Federal Firearms Licence - any employees who are included under that licence may not handle firearms in that shop.
