No. A magnet only interfers with magnetic fields ... lots of old IBMs used magnetic memory cards and that's where the stories started.

In the settings on the Hero 2 and Hero 3, there will be a trash can at the end of the settings menu. You can either delete the last file on the SD card (either a photo or video depending on what you last took) or you can delete everything that is on your SD card which reformats it as well. Your best bet is putting the SD card into your computer and deleting what you want from there rather than taking a chance with the GoPro.
They do that for a reason, to stop hacking. however if you don't have a recycle bin at all then you can always select the file and then press the delete key. rightclicking the file choosing delete will to the same thing. if it is blocking you from doing this then you can bypass the recycle bin and permanently delete the file by using: Shift + delete WARNING you will not be able to recover the file after permanently deleting the file, hence the adjective 'permanent' is implied.
