It depends on your definition of "side of the road". A motor vehicle may not be driven (or ridden as the case may be) on a sidewalk. If it is not street legal, then, obviously, it cannot be driven on public roads. If it is street legal, then it must be registered and have a license plate. You must also have the appropriate license class and type to drive it. If you mean in an area such as a strip of dirt, then I am not sure. I would not ride near any major roads, but in a neighborhood might be ok. ANSWER- what i did was make good (i mean really good) friends with the sherrif. i meet him all the time on my yz 125 and i be sure to wave to him. he smiles and waves back. now the DNR is a different story...
No...
The correct way to ride is to have another rider next to you in order to mimic the width of a four wheeled vehicle. The second rider usually rides next to the first, but their front tire is inline with the other bike's rear.
Different states require different licenses, but most states have a requirement to at least take a written test for motorcycle operation. Many states require you to take a class with a written and practical exam.

A bike lane is another term for a bicycle lane or cycle lane - a part of a roadway designed for use by cyclists.
One disadvantage is that cars and trucks use the motorcycle lane for passing other cars. A theoretical advantage would be that you would not need to compete with cages in a designated motorcycle lane.
If the Motorcycle is street legal and intended for street use, Yes. However if the motorcycle is a dirt bike and not being drivin on the streets then NO.
a bike
No, it is not safe to use a Garmin GPS motorcycle while on your bike. Motorcycles are already dangerous enough with out distractions. The GPS would only distract the rider.
There is no such thing. It all depends on what you intend to use a motorcycle for.
A lot of times, merging into a turn lane may require you to cross over a bike line, or the turn lane may be jointly a turn lane and bike lane.
