I was responsible to pay for medical expenses only after she paid the initial $250 deductible and all claims have been submitted to inusrance carriers. I have also been in situations where I have contested certain expenses that were not directly medical expenses such as warranties & shipping fees (ie. eye glasses). You should be able to find this information in your support order. Your domestic relation office can provide you with specific information on what type of medical expenses are considered.

If my 16-year-old licensed driver is covered under her custodial parent's auto insurance must she also be covered under the noncustodial parent's insurance to drive the noncustodial parent's car?

This may vary based on your insurance carrier and the state you live in, but my insurance company told me I was unable to add my son to my policy if he lived with the other parent. If fact, the other parent refused to add him to their policy, and I was still unable to add him to mine because he did not "live" in my home. Our only alternative was to find a company which would set him up on his own policy, which I've been told is generally not allowed. Hope this helps.

A minor child with no license hit my car will her parents auto insurance repair my car?

As the driver is a minor child, the Custodial Parent or other Custodial Entity is Financially Liable for the acts of the minor child. An auto accident may or may not be covered under the Custodians Auto insurance Policy depending on whether the child is covered or excluded from coverage on that Policy.

What does it mean for a patient to have dual insurance coverage?

This refers to the case in which a patient is insured by more than one insurance plan. For example, a Medicare patient is generally covered for 80% of charges for a physician visit. In this case , he or she would usually be responsible for the remaining 20% of charges. However, if he or she has dual insurance coverage and is also covered by a supplemental plan. Medicare plus, this secondary plan would generally pay the amount not covered by the patient's primary insurance plan, Medicare.

If you thought you had a heart attack at work and had to take an ambulance is it covered by workmans comp?

If the reference is to the ambulance and/or hospital charges, those would not be covered under a WCI claim. Those type of charges might be covered under the person's medical insurance. However, state laws govern workman's compensation and some do have provisions for paying specific charges not covered under regular medical insurance. The best option would be to contact the employer or the person at the company that handles WC issues/claims, to find out exactly what benefits are available.
