I am not sure but i think the intel core i7 uses Hyper Threading to make it look like it has 8 processing cores
Hyper threading processors simulate a dual core processor with only a single core. Technically you are still running a single core processor, but multiple tasks can be run more efficiently..
Hyper-Threading Technology (HT Technology) is the brand under which Intel markets a generation of processors that can increase efficiency by improving multi-task processing, and are ideal in multi-threaded environments.
If you are referring to Intel then it is Hyper-Threading
Hyper-Threading
Pragma directive forces processor to use specific advantages for particular processors such as Hyper Threading, multi cores and so on.
Hyper-Threading Technology is a small program in the BIOS which enables the processor to run at higher speeds than usual, or to even make the computer think it has more cores than it should. Make sure firstly that your processor is capable of running Hyper-Threading Technology otherwise the motherboard will run faster than the processor can handle, causing crashes and CPU problems
There should be a setting in the BIOS to enable or disable Hyper-Threading (HT), the change can be made there.
Because that particular CPU is a quad core with hyper-threading enabled, which means that you have 4 cores + 4 threads = 8 total CPU's.
There should be a setting in the BIOS to enable or disable Hyper-Threading (HT), the change can be made there.
Hyper-Threading is a technology used by some Intel microprocessors that allows a single microprocessor to act like two separate processors to the operating system and the application programs that use it.
Hyper threading
It provides heavy lifting.
