For a properly placed tongue piercing the tongue should be able to extend past the lower teeth by at least 3/4 to 1 inch. Piercing a tongue that can be extended can lead to sever dental damage and gun erosion so having something to pierce is always a safer and smarter way to go. Please be sure to leave tongue piercing to trained and experienced professional body piercers. Placement and prepiercing hygiene is critical to ensuring a safe tongue piercing.
Not all tongues are the same and with that in mind as the tongue gets longer the tongue also gets thicker which mean the piercer must account for the thickness when selecting a correct initial barbell for the piercing. Swelling can cause serious issues during the healing process and the barbell must be long enough to account for the swelling.
Yes. Go check with a piercer. There is also the option of cutting the frenulum (tissue that restricts the movement of your tongue) beneath your tongue to create room for a piercing.
NO. PEOPLE DO IT ALL THE TIME
No a navel banana bell is not designed nor intended to be used in a tongue piercing. Tongue piercings are done with a straight barbell, the curve in the navel bell will cause trouble with the tongue piercing as well as being too short.
The jewelry is probably too short/tight. Go see a piercer and have them check it out to be sure what it is exactly an for them to fit you with the proper length barbell :)

Tongue piercings do not hurt much. Even a tongue web or double tonuge which seem to have a higher pain level, do not hurt too much. As ar as I 've experienced, an ear piercing hurts more than any other piercing. I am plannig to have a conch piercing and just read at site rightpiercing dot com that it hurts too much if I plan to have an inner and outer conch at the same time. Emily
No. A genital piercing includes any piercing on or around your genitals. Not your tongue.
Yes, but it's possible that the tongue bar you are wearing is too long. Also, your tongue gets thinner when you are dehydrated which will make your tongue bar feel loose in your mouth. Try drinking some water or using a shorter bar. Also, because of the tissue make up of the tongue, the piercing hole is also capable of enlarging and/or migrating to some extent, especially if it is not placed correctly and the stud is too long, or too short. If you are having any problems or concerns, please consult a professional.

A tongue piercing is a type of body piercing in which the tongue is pierced.
Quite honestly, I think a tongue piercing looks GREAT on anyone. But really, if you want a tongue piercing, it's about what you think. Not what other people think about it. If you want it, and you know you'll like it, then go for it. You don't have to worry about what people will say.
