it makes no difference what time of year it is.
You can stand an egg on end any time of the year. Myth. Originated in China, but it's the spring equinox that is supposedly the only time of year you can do that. Nuff said.
There is an urban legend, or maybe more accurately a joke, that you can stand an egg on end at the moment of the equinox (not solstice). It is not true.

about 3 seconds but it depends how long you stand on it for
The life span of a slug is normally only one year. The winter is generally the time of their egg stage. However, adults can go into a state of inactive hibernation during the winter if they are still alive.
no, Actually yes, for me, today is the vernal equinox. In chemistry class my teacher informed the class that today is the day to stand eggs on end, and I've made 5 eggs stand on end already.
The broom stand trick is the same as the raw egg balancing trick which happens during the spring equinox. It is the date the day which the sun and moon are aligned for equal lenghts of time.
I stood an egg up today, September 22, 2010, also known as the autumnal equinox. I've also heard that you can stand an egg up every solstice and equinox, but my chemistry teacher said that is can only happen on the autumnal equinox. At any time. I tried it on the Autumnal equinox one year, and it worked , and I have pictures of it.

If you stand on an egg, it will break, regardless of it's position.
To cover a boiled egg on an egg stand to keep it warm.
Yes, they can. My birds laid an egg in the winter.
Spin the egg on a flat surface, a raw egg will wobble as the contents are liquid, a soft boiled egg will try to stand up, and a hard boiled egg will stand up and spin without wobbling as it is solid inside.
Yes. There is a golden egg in Winter Wonderham, level 18.
Egg sandwich I expect
EGG + EGG --------- PAGE is the same as: 899 + 899 ---------- 1798 E= 8 G= 9 P= 1 A= 7
This is an urban legend. There is no special change in gravitation on December 21 (the winter solstice in the Northern Hemisphere, when the Earth is closest to the Sun). If an egg cannot be balanced at any other time, it will not be any more possible on December 21. And, oddly enough, the original date suggested was the vernal equinox (March 21 in the Northern Hemisphere). Nothing special about balancing then either.
