No. Your workplace should have a Workplace Health and Safety representative who can ensure that your doctor's recommendations are carried out. This may well require some compromise on your part, however. It will mean you cannot choose to work more than ten hours if it suits you to do so on any given day. Both you and your employer must stick with the ten-hour limit.

What does my doctor need to document for my employer toi have me fly business class due to a handicap?

Well, if he documented your particular handicap, and signed a recommendation that you cannot, for health reasons, fly in coach then that should suffice. It more relates to your HR director and your particular employer's sympathy than anything.

Can an employer send you home from work for your health reasons when you have a clearance from your doctor to work?

My advice will be to go and join the relevant Union for your profession/your work and ask them. They have a legal team and all the info that is important to you and will defend you if your employer is up to no good (they often are...). Most importantly your UNION has your best interest at heart. It is worth joining!!

Do you have to take your employers health insurance or can you remain on your spouses health insurance under the new ObamaCare?

You will have a choice between your employer's plan and your spouse's plan. Your employer may ask you for proof that you are covered by your spouse's plan. Your employer's plan will want this, in order to ensure that people are not dropping out for other reasons (such as they can't afford to join).

Can an employer ask an employee about health concerns that makes them late to work?

Yes, if it's on going. In British Columbia, Canada when a person is off work for three days or more an employer can ask for a doctors note. It's best to get a doctors note if possible because the doctor will only tell the employer that you are being treated, but won't tell the employer what you are being treated for (patient/doctor confidentiality.)

Am I owed a buyout for not accepting health insurance benefits from employer?

No, you are not owed any money for skipping the employer's health plan. Some employers do this, but others do not. The employer is not required to pay you the cost of the health insurance, if you do not take it.
