Yes, antibiotics decrease the effects of the pill and you may potentially become pregnant. Alternative forms of contraception should be used while taking antibiotics. My physicians have always told me to continue alternative contraception for at least 2 weeks after you have finished the antibiotics so that the pill has ample time to become fully effective again.
Antibiotics tend to decrease the effectiveness of the pill. If you do use both, please use a second form of contraception, (a physical barrier may be best) in order to decrease the chance of becoming pregnant.
From my recollection this is how I was cautioned, when you are taking the antibiotic you need to use another form of Birth Control in conjunction with your pill. ie: condoms, spermicide. Thus I assume the antibiotic can interfere somehow with the effectiveness of your birth control. I don't know that it has been irrefutable determined, so they recommend precaution. In other words they don't know for sure but it has raised question. .... Andra
Yes. Not all antibiotics affect birth control. In fact, some even increase the effectiveness. Plus, your body needs a constant dose of hormones at all times for your birth control to continue working after you're off your antibiotics. Continue taking them, but research whether the antibiotics you're taking affect your pill.
Yes it works before and after most antibiotics. There are very few antibiotics that may interfere with BCP, and recent research shows even the ones that was thought to be a problem is not as big a problem as once thought.
It greatly reduces the effectiveness of the MAP or normal BCPs.

Antibiotics or other medications may interfere with the effectiveness of birth control, consult your doctor before you have unprotected sex.

macrolides
No it does not. And if you are on the pill and get antibiotics for the UTI you are also unprotected since antibiotics negate the pill's effect.
A woman that is on contraceptive pills can become pregnant under certain unusual circumstances that may interfere with the efficacy of the drug. Being on antibiotics for example may cause the pill not to work. the pill was designed to prevent pregnancy without the use of anything like a condom.
If you are taking antibiotics, and you got your period while being on the pill, you want to continue to take your pill. Keep in mind that being on antibiotics can lower the affect of the birth control pill.
Riboflavin should not be taken at the same time as tetracycline antibiotics because it interferes with the absorption and effectiveness of these medications. It may also interfere with the effectiveness of sulfa-containing drugs

Antibiotics such as Keflex (cephalexin) only interfere with oral contraceptive pills as they affect their absorption into the body and therefore may interfere with the effectiveness of the pill. Injectable contraception such as DepoProvera is NOT effected. There are no known drug interactions between Keflex and Depo Provera.
