actually nothing really happens. all it does is make crackling noises because they are dissolving and when they dissolve the carbon dioxide inside of them explodes had to doing it for a science experiment) i thought it would explode or do something cool but actually it was kinda boring.
To be honest, I don't think that ^ is true. Look.. I am saying this because I am do a science fair project on this. I need these materials;
* a 16 ounce bottle
* a drink (any kind]
* a balloon (don't blow it up]
* pop-rocks
Now, how I start this out is:
I was going to get the 16 ounce bottle and pour the drink into a tall cup. (keep the bottle]
Then I was going to clean the bottle, and then place the pop-rocks in the empty bottle. (pour]
Next I was going to pour half of the drink back in the bottle. (leave the pop-rocks in the bottle while pouring the drink, don't take/pour them out]
Then while the drink is reacting to the pop-rocks (that pop] I would put the balloon on the (part that you put your mouth on where you drink the drink] and watch the balloon and see if it gets bigger.
Then take notes.
I was then going to take pictures and put down some research I found (and was going to put them in MY own words]
Then finally turn it in.
The trademark candy called Mentos is used for the "exploding soda" experiment. This particular candy does not dissolve into the liquid soda. It fragments into thousands of particles that affect the liquid as if it were being shaken. The carbon dioxide (fizz) that is dissolved in the soda is rapidly released on a large scale, and pushes the liquid up out of the bottle as it expands.
As much as 80% of the carbonation is released, and 60% to 80% of the liquid soda is expelled in a geyser from the top of the bottle. The energy for this reaction was stored in the soda by the machines that compressed the CO2 to dissolve it in the soda. Ordinarily the gas escapes slowly and the soda goes flat.
yes- any drink that is carbonated can blow a balloon up.
No it can't make it explode, but it could make it frizz or over flow a cup, it depends on the size of the cup. But mentos will make an explosion when put it soda.
sort of. They sizzle in your mouth and sometimes hurt but it doesn't really explode.
mentos
no
Baking soda and vinegar!
not baking soda
Well you have to shake soda and put in a Mintosnot a mint.
If you mix chalk with club soda, it is most likely that it will explode!
no
poprocks+soda=boom
Dropping Mentos into soda will cause it to explode.
Baking soda and vinegar!
yes
It depends. If you are a baby and you drink a can of coke and eat like 5 packets of poprocks,then yes you will explode. I you are an adult, you will not explode
you could make soda explode but you can't make a soda bottle explode and by the way if you are going to do anything like that use diet pepsi cuz diet pepsi is crap in a bottle , a bottle that you can not explode! SO DONT TRY IT IN THE FIRST PLACE CUZ ITS JUST STUPID!
it overflowed
soda could explode at any time!!!
Technically the term "explosion" for soda is inadequate. A true explosive reaction is not possible.
about a tablespoon
it will fall and it will explode in fizz and make a big mess
