Autism is a neurology - as such it's an absolute and part of a persons Biology, autism cannot increase as you get older any more than you can become 'more female' as you get older (unless you're a trans woman who chooses medical options to change their body to be more female). Autism symptoms can change throughout a persons life and depending on their lifestyle and situation they may worsen. There is some evidence to suggest that people become more severely impacted by autism as they enter middle-age to old-age, this may simply be because Autistic people feel under less pressure to assimilate to neurotypical culture or to attempt to conform to neurotypical behaviour.

How common is Autism ?

Autism is as common today as it always has been - currently figures put autism diangosis in children at 1 in 50, this doesn't mean an increase in autism but an increase in awareness of autism and better diangosis so more autistic people are now getting diagnosed.

1 in 150 have autism today what was the ratio in 1992?

Actually the CDC put the ratio of autism at 1 in 68 today. There is absolutely nothing to suggest that autism has increased at all, so this ration also represents autistic people in 1992 - autism isn't on the increase, diagnosis of autism is on the increase, it's an important difference.

Is the number of people with autistic spectrum disorder rising?

It's impossible to say as we don't understand enough about autism yet - diagnosis is increasing, which is giving people the impression that autism is on the increase (when in fact it is simply that we understand autism better and diagnosis is better), but that doesn't necessarily mean that autism is on the increase.

Does the age when getting pregnant have anything to do with autism?

There is no evidence of this.

What is the correlation of parents with an Autism-asperger's child and divorce?

There is no correlation between Autism and divorce.Organisations such as Autism Speaks spread this myth to increase fear of Autism - suggesting that Autism is some terrible thing that breaks-up families in order to increase money people give them to eradicate Autism/Autistic people. There's no solid evidence to show that parents with Autistic children are more likely to divorce than parents with neurotypical children.

Can autism grow at your age?

Autism refers to a neurology, it's not something that can 'grow' at all. Autistic symptoms can improve, worsen, or change as an Autistic person gets older - it's typically more severe in children, but older people can show worsening symptoms too or can simply stop caring so much about hiding their autism.

What to the government do based on the autism epidemic?

There's no such thing as the 'autism epidemic'.Autism is a variation in neurology, it is not a disease so cannot be an 'epidemic'. This terminology is commonly used by those who are against Autistic people or use Autism to further their agenda (such as using it to make money - e.g. Autism Speaks) to create a culture of fear, often using misleading data claiming Autism is on the increase when it's not (diagnosis has increased, Autism hasn't).

How much money do you have to pay for the autism walk?

Autism Walk is promoted by Autism Speaks to increase their profits, Autism Speaks is considered to be a hate group by Autistic people - if you care about Autistic people you don't give a single penny to that organisation. If you want to walk for Autism start your own walk, make it free and ask for donations, and support an Autism charity that helps Autistic people.

What is Autism awareness?

Autism awareness is simply making people aware of autism and Autistic people. Unfortunately organizations such as Autism Speaks uses autism awareness to speak negatively about autism and Autistic people to increase their profits, thus there remains a lot of ignorance about autism.
