NO
Bacitracin is an anti-bacterial. Yeast infections are fungal. The use of anti-bacterials can actually worsen a yeast infection because they cause an imbalance in the natural bacteria that resides in us. Decreased harmless bacteria, therefore, allows the natural level of yeast to multiply and turn into an infection.
Many vaginitis infections have similar symptoms and can come from many different sources (fungal, protazoan, etc) so you should check with a doctor to determine which you have.
It’s disturbing that the best answer is completely wrong, a yeast infection is Completely different than bacterial
vaginosis which hello…. Is from bacteria hence the name. what imbecile put this answer And what three other imbeciles marked it helpful?!
well, im not sure if it will cure the jock itch, but it worked long enough for me to sleep. it only helped the itch, but i would recommend getting an over the counter athletes foot drug. such as lotrimin ultra or tinactin.
all in all, bacitracin is a quick fix for a few days until you can get an athletes foot otc drug.
Bacitracin will not cure bacterial vaginosis. It's more likely to make things worse. See your health care provider for accurate diagnosis and treatment of BV.
Bacitracin will not treat cold sores or fever blisters. The ointment portion may give some pain relief.
yes
yes, as it disinfects the area.
Bacitracin inhibits isoprenyl pyrophosphate, a molecule that carries the building blocks of the peptidoglycan bacterial wall outside of the inner membrane.
Bacitracin is a topical antibiotic ointment that is generally used for injuries or infections. It should only be used on insect bites if the area appears to be infected.
Bacitracin Zinc is an excellent antibiotic (it's actually a mix of polypeptide antibiotics) for topical infections caused by gram positive organisms - staph, strep, enterococcus, clostridium difficile, etc. It doesn't work well on gram negative bacteria ( eg: pseudomonas, e. coli, serratia, etc.) because it works to break down the cell wall surrounding gram positive bacteria (kind of like penicillins). Gram negative bacteria don't have that kind of external covering, and thus are not (usually) suseptable. Bacitracin is extremely nephrotoxic (kidneys), so it isn't used for internal infections (v. rarely given I.M. for pediatric staphylococcal pnumonia that won't respond to other antibiotics). Primary uses are for staph infections of the skin and eyes. There is a very low rate of bacterial resistance, even in MRSA strains, and it's not very likely to cause an allergic reaction. So, yes, the ointment should work v. well on a staph infection. For ocular staph infections, there are ophthalmic ointment formulations. Keratopro The problem with zinc and staph is that staph craves zinc and manganese: http://www.mc.vanderbilt.edu/reporter/index.html?ID=6154
Neomycin, Polymyxin b sulfates, and bacitracin zinc ophthalmic ointments are typically sold as 'triple antibiotics' they each treat bacterial infections and work in conjuncture with each other to kill bacterial infections. Yes they can be used on horses, you can get name brand or generic products that contain all three (hence the 'triple antibiotic' label). However you should consult your equine veterinarian before using any medication on or near a horses eyes.
You can, but you're better off using Silvadene cream (Silver Sulfadiazine) as it's typically used in ER's and prescribed for both 2nd and 3rd degree burns. Works well, keeps the area moist and protected, helps promote fast healing (anti-bacterial properties)
This medication is not a classic antibiotic and is instead used to treat amoebic and parasitic infestations. As these are uncommon infections, you're very likely looking at using the wrong medication. More likely are yeast infections, or bacterial infections. However, this medication will not work effectively for either of the two more likelt cases.
If you do not have plain petroleum jelly, Bacitracin can work. It is just an antibiotic with a petroleum base. However, a very large jar of petroleum is only a couple of dollars. You might be better off to wait and pick some up.
Yes. The main thing you want to do is keep the scab from accidentally getting picked off or drying out. A&D ointment or bacitracin work best.(keep it oiled) After a week of this switch to a no perfume lotion. If the scab comes off, your tattoo can lose color.
No. Bacitracin is an antibiotic for bacteria, not for fungus. For a nail fungus infection you need an oral (systemic) medication such as Lamisil tablets. Those who don't want to risk its side effects usually try less effective anti-fungal creams. Some believe that other remedies also work such as vinegar, vicks vaporub, hydrogen peroxide, chlorine bleach or Tea Tree Oil. Some work for some people, nothing works for everybody.
hi
if you have dry skin behind or around your eye you can treat it by putting on vitamin A cream ( ointment ) careful not to get it in your eye. if that does not work you can try ( Betasonate ) this is an ointment that you can prescribe ,and if that does not work you can go and visit a dermatologist .
