Can biting your tongue on the side cause a white bump and how long will it last?
It sounds like it's a canker sore. They are sometimes pretty painful, but aren't anything to worry about. They usually last about a week or less. If it doesn't go away or concerns you, go see a doctor or dentist.
The cause of the white bump on the tip of your tongue is, if your talking really fast you may accidentally bite your tongue and you may not notice it (I've done it plenty of times) and it's very annoying. Or if your eating and you bite your tongue, you may not be able to see it up close but it hurts! I call those lie bumps, Maybeh you should quit lying. Lol

Actually the tongue is packed chock full of all kinds of bumpy nodules to register taste, hot and cold, sweet or sour, salty or bland and it's more likely to be one of these. i got the answer. Put baking soda on the bump. Dont put too much, or it won't work. Just lick your finger, put it on the bump, and wait a minute or two without licking it. It may sting or hurt. But you shouldn't drink any thing for at least five minutes, or you will swallow it and that wont be good. So go with that! Bye! Holly R.
