Is basil good for heartburn?

While the spicy, peppery flavor of basil can actually trigger heartburn in some people, it is a relief for most. Basil minimizes stomach acid for most, thereby relieving heartburn, nausea and gas just by eating 2-3 leaves. You just have to experiment for yourself to see if you are one of the many it can help or the few it bothers.

Can eating junk food while you have heartburn kill you?

Heartburn is not terminal it will not kill you, BUT it is a great indicator that something is wrong and it is usually in your esophagus or your stomach. In rare instances other diseases & ailments will give the same symptoms, but usually it is just some irritation from your food or acid in your stomach. Eating junk food may damage your health long term, but on any given day, not likely to be the reason you will be meeting your maker!

Does eating spicy foods defeat the purpose of the antibiotics for the teeth?

I've not heard of that. Antibiotics can be inhibited by smoking or excessive use of alcohol. Stay away from both if you're trying to heal from oral surgery. As far as "spicy" foods, I would suggest that you stick to a rather "bland" diet, while you are healing. However, your dental practioner can advise you about this.
