There may be a star called 'genesis', but 'genesis' does not mean a star. The word 'genesis" (spelt with a small 'g') means "a beginning or origin of anything" [Collins Dict.], but in that respect it still shouldn't be used to refer to a star process.
This is because since a supernova is the explosion of a star at the end of its life when it runs out of hydrogen, contracts with thermonuclear explosions, and ends as a white dwarf, it is therefore actually the end of a cycle and not a beginning. Conjectures about the formation of elements from a supernova ultimately bringing about the formation of planets etc are just that: conjecture, and they do not take into account the first cause of how the first star that became a supernova to be formed.
On the other hand, the word 'Genesis' (spelt with a 'capital G') comes from the Greek translation of The Bible called the Septuagint and means 'origins' , whereas the Hebrew title comes from the Bible's very first word translated "in the beginning." The First Cause of everything is God the Creator, with His creation of everything including stars 'ex-nihilo' [out of nothing].
It does not matter whether 'Genesis' or 'genesis' is referred to since in neither case can it refer to a star.
