Yes you can, But you need a lot of parts. You will need to go to a junk yard and get the Power Steering pump and hoses, and the power steering arm under the front of the truck.
That would be the cheapest way. your buy it all new then have some one install it all.

Yes, you can buy expensive kits, or you can buy it off someone who has a 1973-79 f100 with power steering who is parting the truck out, it fits the same. I kept mine manual because its not hard to steer, but I bought cab supports and a guy tried to sell me one of his 6 power steering kits for 120 bucks a piece haha

It's a posabely that you may have a 383, if the truck was orderd that way they where not standerd. In 1972 the 383 was replaced with the 400. Most of the light duty trucks had 318 or 360s
