This is a difficult question because the solution is often yes or no depending upon how you define cure because hope is so important within the setting of cancer.

Long-term survival with lung cancer is usually possible, especially when the disease is caught within the early stages, or if an advanced lung cancer responds to targeted therapies or immunotherapy. Some people survive a few years even with stage 4 lung cancer. Even if lung cancer isn't curable, it's nearly always treatable. And it isn't just that advanced lung cancer is curable. The new treatment options often have a few side effects. There's always an opportunity (in some cases this is often very small) that lung cancer can recur, even a few years after it's originally found. The longer someone lives without evidence of cancer (no evidence of cancer is usually simply called NED). When lung cancer is not spread to the lymph nodes and blood vessels in the early stage that can be cured.

There is indeed a treatment for Stage 3 Lung Cancer, it consists of surgery to remove the tumor then chemotherapy sessions. Often, when the tumor is considered inoperable chemotherapy is used regularly to help.

Also with the aid of targeted radiation, the cancer cells may die and stop multiplying and migrating. But close monitoring is vital. As the cancer can start growing again.

Though no cure is available there are treatments for it.

There are two types of lung cancers. Small Cell and Non Small Cell.

Small cell lung cancer is more responsive to chemotherapy and radiation but it is often a secondary cancer or has progressed considerably before staging by a medical team. It is a very rapid growing and often spreads cancer beyond a localized area and that is what makes fighting it difficult.

Non Small Cell Cancers of the lung grow less rapidly and because they have a slower metabolism they are less responsive to chemotherapy as they do not absorb chemotherapy drugs as much as a Small Cell cancer In the last few years they have released a few different type Chemotherapies to combat NSCLC by restricting new blood flow to tumors.

The best option for a cure for a patient is to catch the Tumor or tumors in a confined area and have that area resected by a surgeon. The patient is then monitored closely with CT scans for the next several years following up to make sure there are no new tumors. The more time that the patient has clear scans the rate of recurrence declines. If they do find them then they can restage the patient and start the treatment options with the patients.

There are currently trials all around the world for a lung cancer vaccine ..

So at this time we can't say there is a cure for lung cancer but for some patients there is treatment. Its a case by case battle that age, other health issues and factors come into play. So for some a surgery will cure them. For some Chemo will cure them and for some Chemo and Radiation will cure them.
There are no known cures but some say eating almonds reduced the risk of getting it.

Treatment for lung cancer can involve surgical removal of the cancer, chemotherapy, or radiation therapy, as well as combinations of these treatments. The decision about which treatments will be appropriate for a given individual must take into account the localization and extent of the tumor as well as the overall health status of the patient.

Lung disease is not one single illness, it is a wide category that ranges from infections caused by viruses and bacteria, throug Asthma and other obstructive diseases, restrictive diseases like fibrosis of different kinds, and lung cancer. Some of these can be cured, others are chronic, like fibrosis, and some can be cured in a few cases, like lung cancer. Some people need medication daily to be free of lung symptomes, like some asthmatics.

What lung disease was it you want to know about?

I bet I can answer this question. In fact, I think my cure would work. You need a sample of any type of virus because that will be the key. The virus will infect the tumor. A virus is a bad thing like cancer. Once the tumor is infected badly, the tumor is exposed. When the tumor is gone, the virus will go to infect the immune system (Where there are some cancer cells) will kill them. When all the cancer is gone, give the patient some Antibiotics to kill the virus. That is my cure. Hope you people out there like it!

Is there anything that people can do to get rid of the lung cancer or control it once they get it?

The two main types of lung cancer are small cell lung cancer and non-small cell lung cancer. These categories refer to what the cancer cells look like under a microscope. In the event that lung malignancy is analysed, different tests are done to find out how far it has spread through the lungs, lymph hubs, and the remainder of the body. This procedure is called staging. The sort and phase of lung malignancy mentions to specialists what sort of treatment you need.Lung disease is treated in a few different ways, contingent upon the sort of lung malignancy and how far it has spread. People with non-small cell lung cancer can be treated with surgery, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, targeted therapy, or a combination of these treatments.
