I wouldnt try, as most drakes of most duck species tend to attack babies. I dont know about their own though.
mistreatment disease these things happen
They can do what they want with their male chicks right?
I have 1.5 acres in South Florida with a small pond. I have had as many as eight ducks at a time (3 female and five male). Every time I have introduced new ducks into the company of the ones already there, there have been altercations. The one exception I've had was when I raised six from ducklings and configured their cage so that the two adults already there could see them every day through a wire screen. When I released them onto the property at about 15 weeks, they got along w/ the adults. The existing ducks (these are Rouen) also chase any wild ducks that land there.
Yes it will. It will try to kill them if the ducklings are not his.
All male ducks are called "Drakes"
yes you can as long as there is no female ducks around :)
yes the only domestic ducks that can fly are female (and young male) muscovy ducks and call ducks. the rest do not fly.
Male ducks.
If it is mating season AND you have a single or any number of female ducks in the same or close-by enclosure, then no.
Female ducks are called "Hens" and male ducks are called "Drakes"
Female ducks are called "Hens" and male ducks are called "Drakes"
Pekin ducks are the largest breed. Pekin ducks are all white, yellow bill on females and greenish bill on males. Pekin ducks don't quack very loud and are not prolific egg layers. They are raised mainly for meat. Next largest is the Rouen. My male Pekin has a yellow bill, but he is only 5 months old... maybe this is going to change? I know he is a male because of his voice, his curl in the tail and what he is doing to my female... if you know what I mean...
