Can nystatin triamcinolone cream treat ringworm?
According to the manufactures information: Nystatin cream is an anti-fungal medication and it is designed to treat ringworm. However, you need a prescription to get the medication and you need to make sure to take it as prescribed. Sometimes the symptoms go away before you are actually completely healed so you need to use as prescribed. Good luck.

Treating ringworm could be VERY easy, you don't even have to go to the dr. The dr. will prescribe you a very expensive prescription when you can very easily get rid of ringworm yourself. Put toothpaste on the infected area once every night and one time throughout the day, or twice per day. Als…o a way to help rid of ringworm faster is to lick the infected area right before applying the toothpaste. spitting helps but not as much as licking because of the bacteria on your tongue. NO DR. will tell you this but if you ask them they will agree to it. They just won't tell you so that you buy their expensive prescription. tell your parents and then go to the doctor they will give you some cream to put on you and some pills to take daily for a month. Nystatin and Triamcinolone Ointment Not sure about the triamcinolone stuff, but the Nystatin can come in different forms. I have used both the liquid which was for my daughters thrush when she was an infant and the ointment which is for yeast infection which I used for my other daughters diaper ras…h. I don't think these products are just for little ones exclusively. Additional Info: This is an anti-fungal and steriod ointment. My ENT doctor prescribed this cream (Nystatin & Triamcinolone Acetonide cream) for my ear aches. I would get VERY painful ear aches, with swelling and tenderness accompanying the pain. Along with the pain was also some discharge of fluid sometimes. I would get these earaches quite alot, sometimes 4 times a year or more. I was not a swimmer, I was never submerged underwater, so I do not know what caused these ear problems. But my ENT doctor gave me this cream, told me to put it on a Q-tip and gently and carefully put it into my ear canal, and it worked great. It cleared up my earache quickly--no more pain, swelling, or tenderness. After the ear cleared up, the ENT doc told me to do a daily routine of alcohol + white vinegar mixture in both my ears daily. He recommended a mixture ratio of isopropyl alcohol to white vinegar of about 50:1 (the doc told me to use the 91% iso. alcohol, but I am sure you can use the lower percentages too). So in a small bottle (I use a ten ounce bottle) I just put a few drops of white vinegar (no more than a capful) and mix it with the alcohol, shake it up, and you have your solution to use daily to maintain a clean healthy ear canal. Please check with your own doctor before you use this type of solution on your own. I have also found out that this Nystatin ointment is used for yeast infections and to treat for Cutaneous candidiasis. This was from drugs.com, here is the link: http://www.drugs.com/ppa/nystatin-triamcinolone-acetonide.HTML The combination of Nystatin plus the Triamcinolone seems to work better together than Nystatin alone, especially for dermatological treatments. Interesting note: according to the above link, the Nystatin ointment is not recommeded for otic (ear) use. I guess my doctor (he is an Ear, Nose, and Throat Specialist) knows more than the people at drugs.com. However, I would not recommend that anybody use this stuff in their ear unless they go to their own ENT doctor to find out what the ENT specialist says. ( Full Answer )
No.Triamcinolone is a topical steroid not an antifungal, it maytreat the symptoms but in the long run will only make it worse.
nystatin is 4 fungal infections its either a powder or cream basically these meds are 4 certain rashes nothing serious
I was prescribed triamcinolone acetonide for my poison ivy, so I'm guessing the consensus in the medical field is that it does work. I am very allergic to poison ivy, and after 6 days, the rash has diminished but not disappeared. The intensity of the redness has lessened 4-5 shades, and it does not …itch near as often, nor as badly. In my opinion, and apparently in my doctors opinion, it does work. It is a topical steriod, and steroids are often the prescription givin for poison ivy infection. ( Full Answer )
Nystatin is what my pediatrition prescribed for my daughters mild ringworm. So far it has not worked, it has been 10 days. her doc sas to come back at 14 days if it is not gone.
I spilled boiling water all down my left arm and put multiple ointments on it (Lidocaine, Burn Cream, etc.) but the only thing that made it feel better was some leftover prescription triamcinolone acetonide. It allowed me to not only sleep with the burn, but also added some flexibility to the burnt …skin on my arm and hand, allowing me some more motion and dexterity. I don't know about it from a clinical perspective, but from experience, it works. And why not try? Triamcinolone acetonide has a very slight risk of any side effects.. Its a type of synthetic steroid almost identical to Cortizone (Hydrocortizone lotion) so its almost certainly going to reduce swelling and reduce recovery time. ( Full Answer )
If the cream is not working it will probably mean that the infection is deeper in the skin, so will need Lamisil antifungal tablets, which will have to be taken for a few weeks or even months, depends on how bad it is(im on these for same thing and its now clearing)
Although the question is not clear, I suspect the question is about these medications used for yeast infections, including thrush, that are a result of having lupus and taking immunosuppressive medications. Immunosuppressive medications make lupus patients more prone to infections of all kinds. If …nystatin coes not resolve the thrush ask for oral diflucan. ( Full Answer )
there are different creams and ointments at the drugstore that should help and if it doesnt go away in 4 weeks then go to the doctor because it may be immune to normal treatment and you will need something stronger.
I use triaminiclone cream on my face for eczema. i also have acne. while it definitely helps with the redness and puffiniess because it is a steroid cream i wouldn't say it helps with acne. it isn't going to correct the problem or prevent further breakouts but it will make the marks less unsighly.
By an ointment you get from the store that kills it and then there's another and it makes the imp-rent of the ringworm go away.
It won't directly heal current acne, but it will improve any small scars left behind from acne.
ANSWER . Make sure the area is clean and DRY. If you don't have disposable rubber gloves, wash your hands well. Apply a SMALL amount to the tip of your finger and spread a very thin layer of the ointment on the affected area. Be sure to cover the entire area with a thin layer . Then follow the dir…ections on the tube for how often to use it. Frequent THIN layers are better than putting it on too thick.......ONE LAST little trick...put the tube in your pocket for about 20 mins. before applying! This warms the ointment to body temp and makes spreading it on much easier, and more comfortable!! HAPPY HEALING! ( Full Answer )
It does exist as a lotion (more liquid than cream) and usually at a lesser strength, 0.1% or less.

Nystatin is not in the steroid class. It's an antifungal. The active ingredient in Triamcinolone is a synthetic steroid, in the corticosteroid family. Here's a link to the chemical formula, indications, application practice, and more for Triamcinolone on drugs.com:

Nystatin is an antifungal and triamcinolone is a steroid. Nystatin would treat the fungal infection while the triamcinolone would help reduce inflammation (swelling, redness, itching).
No, nystatin and triamcinolone acetonide can not be used on beestings. When combined nystatin and triamcinolone acetonide are usedto treat fungal and yeast infections. Triamcinolone acetonide byitself can be used for bee stings.

After over 15 yrs of suffering from Rosacea, which has only progressed, I've tried so many different topical creams, gels and oral antibiotics prescribed by my specialist... none solved the problem. I read an article online from a man who professed to have cured his Rosacea with the nystatin/triamci…nolone cream. I happened to have some, so I felt like I had nothing to lose by trying it. Overnight, the numerous pustules on my forehead and face cleared up and I was able to go without concealer for the first time in years. It was Christmas day... what a gift! ( Full Answer )
Nasty rashes caused by fungal infections that are very red and sore, such as "jock itch," heat rash, diaper rash, and female vaginal and external genitalia yeast/fungal infections.
Nystatin is for fungal infections, and triamcinolone is for a variety of skin conditions that can cause itchy irritated skin such as eczema. Neither of these can cure herpes, because herpes is a virus. In fact, steroids like triamcinolone should not be used on viral infections like herpes or chicken… pox because they reduce your immune system and can make the infection spread. There are creams that can be used for herpes, and these are antiviral creams. Ask your doctor or pharmacist for more information. ( Full Answer )
Nystatin is used to treat fungal infections of the skin, mouth, vagina, and intestinal tract.

Triamcinolone based creams are actually used in veterinary medicine as an anti-inflammatory, antipruritic, and antibacterial medication for the treatment of skin conditions. That said, you're still supposed to avoid ingestion. You should contact your Vet.
Triamcinolone is a steroid cream and will not treat genital warts;if anything, it may make them worse.
Nystatin is an antifungal cream and will work on ringworminfection. The problem is that it can't be used on any place thatthe cat can reach with his tongue or paws, because the cream may betoxic to them.
I was prescribed triamcinolone acetonide to use WITH an over thecounter anti fungal cream (like clotrimazole) to cure my athlete'sfoot. I was getting severe, scarring fungal infections that theanti fungal creams would not cure. The Triamcinolone stops theitching and burning, as well as the swelling …which allowed the antifungal cream to work much more effectively and quicker. ( Full Answer )
triamcinolone is a corticoid steroid which only replace steroids as anti inflamatory and antiallergy. mostly topicals are available with anti fungal like, nystatin which is very fame and good.
That depends on the cause. If you're not getting relief after 10 days, or if it's getting worse, contact the prescribing health care provider.
Can Nystatin and Triamcinolone Acetonide Ointment be used to treat cold sores fever blisters and or herpes simplex on the mouth and nose?
Ack! Please don't do that! Those are likely to make things worse instead of better. Talk with your health care provider about effective treatments.
It can be used to remove dark spots or scars left by acne, but it won't heal acne itself
Depends on what your using it for. but in most cases, yes about a minute or two after application mild stinging sensations occur.
I have had psoriasis for about 10 years now. It comes and goes, but is here more often than not. Recently in the past 3 years it has spread to my face. I could deal with it anywhere else on my body because i could hide it as needed but not on my face. I tried many otc creams and nothing ever worked.… My daughter had a diaper rash and the dr prescribed Triamcinolone with nystatin for it. It cleared her up and a few months later I figured I'd try it on my face. To my surprise it cleared it up in a matter of 3 or 4 days. I had psoriasis on my face for years and this cleared it up! I just ran out an my psoriasis is coming back on my face. Im not sure how the doctors feel about putting this on your face but its the only thing that worked for me. P.S. I only used this as needed. As soon as it dissapeared I would stop using the medicine so my body would not become immune to it. Good luck! ( Full Answer )
I have used it myself for psoriasis on my hands....and over all the years and different creams & ointments...that is the only thing that will clear it up 100% (untill another breakout that is) I had originally had it for something else and noticed that my hands were really clearing up!!
No. It is not a fungus so the nystatin will not help (or hurt). It is a herpes infection so the steroid (triamcinolone) may make it worse. You can use Lysine pills, over the counter Abreva or several prescription products.
It may help heal the sores or blisters but nystatin cream is more used to treat fungal or candidas infections. If it burns or irritate your skin then discontinue using it and get some over the counter cold sore cream or antiviral medication.
Reccently I used just plain nystatin on my hemorrhoids out of pure desperation for pain, itch relief (it was prescribed for yeast infection on my skin). It worked instantly. I could have cried because I felt so much better in 5 seconds.
No. Ringworm is a completely different type of fungi than those you can get vaginally. Ringworm is treated via oral medication. Depending on where the ringworm is, you will need separate medication. Scalp ringworm needs to be treated with a special shampoo and pill called Terbinafine. Skin-based …ringworm needs to be treated with a course of Itraconazole medication. Vaginal anti-fungal cream will have no effect on ringworm. ( Full Answer )
