Generally it is the younger generation that drives aloud.

One of the reasons that older people are allowed to drive is that they have more experience and do not drive aloud.

yes, but only if they are required to take test again to see whether or not they are still able to drive. It would also be of benifit if they were to take an eye examination and hearing examiniations. If we do not allow the elderly people to drive we wil be dipriving them of their basis human rights. On The Other hand all of the c02 in the atmosphere will decrease by a considerable amount as well as the noise pollution on roads.

Yes, they should but only if they go to the DMV and get their eyesight checked, otherwise they need to stay off the road. Anyone who says old people should drive no matter what has obviously no clue what they are saying and everyone is better off not listening to them as they are probably old people themselves. The term "young idiot" just proves that, nothing more.

Times today have changed, many old people still have not grasped that concept. In fact depending on where you live younger people drive better than their elders do. Their elders drive too slow most of the time and hold up traffic.

On the other hand by stopping older people from driving and giving them free bus passes they will be more likely to travel by public transport therefore reducing CO2, carbon emissions, green house gases and global warming. It will also save them money on petrol and not having to pay for a bus everywhere they go.

Yes old people should be able to drive as long as they are physically capable and alert enough. Older people can make significantly better drivers than hot headed and impetuous youths as they have a lot more experience and tend to take less risks.
cant see well. much slower reaction times. unfamilier with modern vehicles and laws. judgments are slowed. narrower periferal vision. i could spend an entire day making a list. it is not safe, and there should be testing annually after age 65.

I think that there are a lot of elderly people out there that drive better than a lot of young people. I also think that there are a lot of elderly who should be tested annually for vision and ability. I wouldn't know what age to start that at though. No person likes to be told that they can no longer drive. But for the safety of themselves and others it may need to be done.

What are some examples of ethical issues in elderly patients?

These issues have to do with the decline in the elderly of their ability to function normally. Should an elderly patient have his car keys taken away or should he or she still be permitted to drive? Should an elderly patient be removed from his or her home and placed in a nursing home or is he or she still able to function well living alone? Should an elderly patient be given an expensive operation if he or she will only live long enough to enjoy its benefits for a short time even if it is successful. Very, very hard decisions to make. .
