There are more than a few J. C. Higgins marked shotguns and values vary by model. More information is needed in order to provide an answer.
J.C. Higgins model 153.17 shotguns were manufactured in the 1950's, making them approximately 60 years old. The price can range from $50 to $300 depending on the item condition.
J.C. Higgins was a brand name for Sears and many manufacturers made them. You would have to provide the model number. Go to proofhouse.com and look at the store brands list.
its worth bout 400 in pretty good shape
Depending on model and condition, about $125. Many were made by High Standard, decent shotguns.
Several different companies made shotguns marked with the Sears JC Higgins brand. If you will post the model number, we may be able to tell you who made it.
A JC Higgins model 20 12 gauge shotgun is worth between $200 and $300 depending on its overall condition. Many of these shotguns were sold over its production run which reduces its overall value.
That's not a serial number- it is a model number. Made prior to 1968. serial numbers not required- and cannot be dated for that reason. Sorry.
Both were High Standard Flite King shotguns. They are similar, but from different time periods. Very nice shotguns, not very pricey.
In very good shape about 100 dollars these are good shotguns enjoy it
Made for Sears by High Standard in the early 1950's. Bolt-action 12ga shotgun, also known as the High Standard Model 10. These guns were subject to a recall by Sears where they would pay $160 plus shipping for just the bolt; who knows how many of these shotguns are laying around there missing bolts.... Resale value is very minimal, and revolves mostly around selling the bolt back to Sears. Recent ownership changes at Sears has reduced the recall amount considerably, so retail value of these particular shotguns have suffered. firstname.lastname@example.org
JC Higgins never made shotguns. That is a Sears model number. Shotguns were made by other companies using the Sears brand name- JC Higgins. Yours is likely a High Standard shotgun. If it has no serial number (most did not) it was made prior to 1968. Serial numbers were not required by law until then.
Sears sold imported Zoli shotguns as well as private branded Winchester 101 shotguns. Would need to know the model number off of the barrel.
That shotgun was made for Sears by High Standard- it is their Flite King model. It was made from about theearly 1960s for about 12 years. Nice shotguns, BTW.
the best answer ive found was between 1955-1958
Sears' JC Higgins Model 25 is the High Standard model A1041 .22 auto
My references do not list a Pointer model. High Standard was a gun manufacturer in Conneticut, and made several pump, auto and over/under shotguns. Company ceased operations in 1984. Many of the Sear J C Higgins shotguns were made by High Standard, and the Flite-King model was one of their best known. Good shotguns. Not real pricy, not a lot of collector interest, but decent shooters.
