Cherry red shrimp (Neocaridina heteropoda) are tropical in their requirements and should be kept between 65F and 75F. Goldfish are coldwater fish and should be kept around 55F to 65F. That makes them incompatible as far as water conditions goes. Add to that the fact that goldfish will eat shrimps and rip off their legs, then you will understand that it is not recommended to house Cherry red shrimps with any kind of goldfish.

There are some 21 species of filter feeding shrimp in the Atyid family that I am aware of, and there are probably many more. Most of them are small and like warmish water. If your tank is heated to around 70F, they could survive but they probably would be eaten by large goldfish. If you can get some shrimp that are large enough they may survive. Please remember that shrimps must be counted as fish when stocking an aquarium, as must snails, and all other living aquatic creatures. The basic rules for successfull fish keeping follow. :- 1 inch of fish needs a minimum of 1 gallon of water. :- Every tank needs a permanently running cycled filter. :- Every tank needs to have at least 50% of its water changed every week... Keep to the above rules, and your fish stand a reasonable chance of survival. Fail to keep them, and I can guarantee that your fish will have constant health problems.

no, the golfish will for sure eat the brine shrimp! and brine shrimp are saltwater shrimp... not freshwater. They will die, but you can feed them to your goldfish as a snack. It is a great part of the diet of practically any fish... but not all so be careful! :)

Not all shrimp are saltwater there are freshwater shrimp and i am getting one of them so i was wondering if it can go with a fantail goldfish

If the shrimp fits into the fish's mouth it will probably be eaten. They can be kept with smaller fish, like guppies, easily, and will clean algae off the tank.

Cowfish and red cherry shrimp can't live together. Red Cherry Shrimp live in fresh water and cowfish are marine fish.

You have a fantail goldfish and it has been alone in a tank for 6 weeks you added another fantail today and the new one is attacking the old one Is this normal?

The only time I know of when goldfish become territorial and attack other fish is when they are overcrowded and are struggling for life itself. Is your tank big enough for 2 goldfish? The basic rule/calculation for keeping fish is "1 inch of fish needs a minimum of 1 gallon of water". A goldfish commonly grows to 10 inches or more so the minimum sized tank you NEED for 2 goldfish is a (Nominal) 25 gallon tank in order to have an (Actual) 20 gallons of water.

What is better putting 20 goldfish into a ten gallon tank or buying ten 1 gallon fish bowls and putting two fish in each?

Neither! A goldfish needs at LEAST 20 gallons of space, adding 10 gallons for each additional goldfish. For example, I own 2 fantail goldfish, and they live happily in a 30 gallon tank. The reason goldfish die so quickly is because people put them in such small containers, and their bodies stop growing but their organs keep expanding. Goldfish are able to live over 10 years, if cared for properly.

Can 2 separate goldfish be put together?

What are the top ten goldfish?

Out of all the different varieties of goldfish the top pond goldfish would be the koi, the top goldfish probably of all time would be the common goldfish, and the top fancy goldfish would be the Oranda. The second most common pond goldfish would probably be the Comet, the second for the common varieties of goldfish would be the Fantail, and the second most popular fancy goldfish would be the ryukin. The third most common pond goldfish would be the Shubunkin, the third for the common goldfish varieties would be the black moor(although this technically counts as "fancy"), and the third for the fancy goldfish would probably be the Celestial and the Ranchu. To make this data more clear I've organized it into a list:1. Common goldfish2. Koi3. Oranda4. Fantail5. Comet6. Ryukin7. Black Moor8. Shubunkin9. Celestial10. Ranchu

How many fish can you put in the 20 gallon tank?

1 goldfish. It may seem tiny now, but they grow up to be around 6 inches. Add 10 gallons for each additional goldfish. Example: 20 gallons + 2 more goldfish (10 gallons) = 40 gallons and 3 goldfish total.

Can you mix a female betta with 2 goldfish 1 is about 3 in long the other is about an inch long in a 14 gallon tank?

You cannot mix goldfish and bettas. Personalities aside, Goldfish are coldwater fish and Bettas are tropical. I have also heard that once the goldfish get bigger, which they will fast, they will eat the bettas David's answer:Yes, they be each other if you put the goldfish in first.(Note: The betta might nip the goldfish's fins)
