Can snakes eat cats?

The general rule with snakes is that they can eat objects ten times the size of their head, because their jaw dislocates as their ribs aren't connected. So, it really depends on how big your cat is and how big your snake is.
It matters how big your cat is and what kind of snake it is, and the size of the snake too.
Snakes do not dislocate their jaw when swallowing something larger than their heads, the joint simply expands. There are wild pythons in Florida that have been eating people's cats. so the answer is yes
