If you decide to go to college later on in life, you can take the SAT at that point, and you will probably perform better at age 20 than at 17. Also, if you do decide to go to college later in life, it will probably be a community college, which don't require the SAT/ACT for admission.

One tried and true way to reduce the stress about doing something is to practice so that you know just what to expect when the time comes to perform. This theory works excellently for the SAT. You can start taking practice SAT exams months ahead of your scheduled SAT test date. You should take the test in a quiet area without any distractions. You should also time yourself so that it feels like you are really taking the test.
Not every student taking the SAT needs to register for one or more SAT subject tests.
