Sugar is the product of sugar beets and sugar cane. These plants are grown from the Midwest to the Carribean Islands and from the East Coast of the US to Hawaii, as well as many other areas of the world.
Sugar comes from two sources. One is sugar cane that is grown in subtropical areas like Cuba. It grows all the time. The next source is sugar beets that is grown in places like central CA. It is planted in the Spring and the harvest is in the fall.
The Staple foods grown in Poland are: Potatoes, wheat, rye, buckwheat, barley, sugar beets and beets. Other food is grown such as cabbage, cucumber, apples, pears, cherries, paprika, maize, strawberries, plums and grapes.
