probably it can be changed but if you change the whole alternator you will gain a new alternator for your engine in opposite of changing only the bearing which is not guaranteed.
50-70 each
OK ... Here's the REAL answer: You cannot change the bearings on a Pontiac Sunfire. You must replace the "Hub-Assembly" they will be the same on both sides .
A 1997 Pontiac Sunfire would have a voltage regulator and it would be found inside the alternator.
What, exactly, is the problem?
You have a bad alternator.
On my 99 sunfire it is directly to the back/side of the alternator; very easy to spot
no.... Pontiac changed to a new transmission in 2000
Luckily, it isn't pressed in. It's a hub assembly. Just bolts in and out.
It could be your alternator is going bad
Re-calibrate what, exactly?
The wiring on the back of your 2000 Pontiac alternator consists of a wiring harness. The wiring harness goes to a few relay switch is and regulators.
check if your battery is low than usual ..might be alternator problem
